PHYS PREF METHYLENE BLUE – This compounded medication contains Methylene Blue (Methylthioninium Chloride)

USE: Methylene Blue improves Mitochondrial function and respiration, O2 consumption, ATP production, glucose consumption. May act as an antioxidant against oxidative stress, proinflammatory cytokines, cytokine storm. Also, it may boost serotonin reducing anxiety and depression.

SIDE EFFECTS: Let your provider know if you experience fever or bladder irritation. Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your doctor or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome): blue-green coloration of urine and stools, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, skin discoloration.

WARNING:  Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have diabetes, high blood pressure, seizures, depression.

CONTRAINDICATIONS: Methylene Blue is contraindicated in pregnancy.  If of childbearing age and prescribed Methylene Blue, it is recommended that you use a reliable form of contraception (i.e., oral contraceptives, or an IUD AND a second barrier method such as condoms). Methylene Blue should be stopped immediatly if pregnancy is suspected (i.e., if cycle is late).

DIRECTIONS:  Take with a full glass of water with or without food as prescribed by your provider.

MISSED DOSAGE: Resume treatment at next day. Do not double up dosage.

STORAGE:   Upon receipt, store at controlled room temperature away from sunlight and moisture.

DESCRIPTION: Clear capsule with blue powder.

DISPOSAL OF UNUSED MEDICATION – Contact the pharmacy for instructions on how to safely dispose of unused medication. Do not flush unused medication or pour down sink or drain.
