DRUG:

This compounded medication contains Melatonin.

USE:

Melatonin is a hormone secreted by the pineal gland as well as extrapineal production. Studies show melatonin may help with sleep.  It may also have anti-oxidant properties.

DIRECTIONS:

Take at bedtime as directed by your physician.  Sublingual tablets should be placed under the tongue and allowed a few minutes to dissolve. Capsules should be taken with a full glass of water.

WARNING:

Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have diabetes, high blood pressure, seizures, depression.

SIDE EFFECTS:

Melatonin is likely safe for most adults when taken by mouth short-term or applied to the skin. It can cause some side effects including headache, short-term feelings of depression, daytime sleepiness, dizziness, stomach cramps, and irritability. Do not drive or use machinery for four to five hours after taking melatonin.

MISSED DOSAGE:

Resume treatment at next bedtime. Do not double up dosage.

STORAGE:

 Upon receipt, store at controlled room temperature away from sunlight and moisture.

DESCRIPTION:

Clear capsule or white round tablets.

DISPOSAL OF UNUSED MEDICATION:

Contact the pharmacy for instructions on how to safely dispose of unused medication. Do not flush unused medication or pour down sink or drain.
