WARNING: After the Women’s Health Initiative, a study of conjugated estrogens and medroxyprogesterone, the FDA required labeling changes for estrogen containing medications warning of the increased risk of uterine cancer, breast cancer, blood clots, heart attacks and strokes. *Note-Physicians Preference Pharmacy does not use conjugated estrogens or medroxyprogesterone. This product can expose you to chemicals including estrogens which are known to the State of California to cause cancer/birth defects or other reproductive harm (California Prop 65 Warning).
Contains the following bio-identical estrogen: Estriol. Estriol is identical to the hormone that is produced in the human body primarily by the ovaries. Estrogens are responsible for the development and maintenance of the female reproductive system, secondary sex characteristics, favorable effects on blood cholesterol and lipid profiles and slowing of the progression of osteoporosis, as well as causing excess growth of the endometrium.
Bio-identical estrogens are used for replacement therapy in peri-menopausal, menopausal, and post-menopausal women for the treatment of symptoms of low or imbalanced estrogen levels. These symptoms include vasomotor symptoms (hot flashes, night sweats) irregular menses, mood swings, and vaginal dryness. Estrogens are also used in a variety of other conditions associated with a deficiency of estrogen hormones including female ovarian failure, or ovareotomy (removal of the ovary).
Bio-identical estrogens are available in many dosage forms including oral capsules, topical preparations, sublingual tablets. Please follow any special instructions from the pharmacist for your prescription. Oral preparations should be taken with a full glass of water. Sublingual tablet should be placed under the tongue given a few minutes to dissolve. Follow dosage instructions exactly and be sure to consult with your physician and pharmacist before adjusting your dosage.
Adverse reactions to bio-identical hormones may be related to the dose or composition of your prescription. Symptoms could be breast tenderness, breakthrough bleeding, nausea, fluid retention, and headaches may increase in susceptible women. The increased risk of cancer may be reduced or eliminated when used in combination with progesterone. Please consult your physician or pharmacist if you experience any of these symptoms or have any questions.
If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered, but not within 6 hours of your next dose, then resume your normal dosing schedule. Do not “double-up” the dose.
Upon receipt, store at controlled room temperature away from sunlight and moisture.
